Equine Retirement Program
Helping Hands also takes in horses that are retired or elderly. Helping Hands is a place where a retired horse can just be a horse. A place where the owner does not have to constantly worry about the thoughts of a slaughter or a sale barn.
Helping Hands works with the owners and our consulting vet and farrier, to make sure the retired horses needs are met. We understand that many elderly horses have special needs, and we do our best to meet those needs, and provide the best care we can possibly give them.
An overview of what a retired horse will get includes:
- Free Choice Hay and Pasture depending on the time of year
- Regular Farrier Care
- Regular De-worming
- Daily Exercise and Grooming
This is all included in our basic rate. Things that are not included and are the responsibility of the owner include, special shoeing, special feed, vaccinations, teeth floating, special clothing such as blankets, and anything else that is normally not covered by regular care. We send our invoices once a month. This includes everything that your horse is getting and needs.
Interested parties should contact Helping Hands Equine Rehabilitation and Rescue about Specific Rates, Contracts, or just more information.
