Horse of the Month

Croaker is a very well-mannered, well broke, Quarter Horse Mare. She has been used as a light riding horse for 4-H, and trail riding for a young girl. She is very gentle and calm with kids. Croaker will only be able to be lightly ridden due to arthritis in her front right knee and shoulder.

South Dakota Equine Rehab and Rescue
In South Dakota, there are no Regulations or Guidelines set up for Horse Rescues. Helping Hands Equine Rehab and Rescue opened its doors in the fall of 2005. With the help from other rescues, families, and friends, HHERR took their first horses in October of 2005. HHERR has grown tremendously since then and are still helping horses today.
HHERR has adopted out horses in many different states around the US. Every donated horse that is placed with a new, loving family is being given a second change in life. Instead of being taken to a sale yard, these horses are donated, and then adopted to families that are looking to give a special horse a home.
HHERR wants to thank everyone for their continued and ongoing support in our rehabilitation, rescue, and adoption efforts. We know we can not thank everyone personally, but please note that you are not forgotten.
